Free – Fun Parks For Kiddies

The Maltese love kiddies and the family unit is very important to them. You will find fabulous, large, brightly-painted parks all over the island and just next to cafes and restaurants so that the adults can relax while the kiddies play. Suggestion: write down the name of the parks so that you can ask locals for directions as you walk along.

Qui-si-sana

As you come out of the apartment turn left and walk a short way to Tigne Point shopping centre. Rather than entering, just walk passed the entrance and passed a shop and the pavement will lead you to a path that runs along the outside of the shopping mall and then down a slight incline in an undercovered walk way. This will take you to a road, you can only go left as the tunnel is on your right. As you go left on the pavement up a slight incline you will get to the round about and as you cross the road to the sea you will arrive at the park which will delight your kids.

Sliema Exiles

From the Qui-si-sana park if you continued walking on the Sliema promenade you would reach another great park. It is probably half an hour away, you could get the bus but it is a nice walk along the promenade. There is also a nice beach shak for snacks and a posher restaurant next door. From this park, you can walk just along the coast rather on the larger promenade by the road, it is a lovely walk through gardens and it will take you to another park and restaurants and a little sandy beach.

Tigne-Point

Tigne Point Indoor Play Area

As you walk out of the apartment and turn left, follow the pavement around and within a few minutes you will be at the shopping centre. This is the largest shopping mall in Malta and upstairs you will find the piaza outside with fountains where children meet and play while the parents relax in the cafes. Downstairs on the lower ground floor you will also see a large, clean indoor play area for kiddies. This could be a great option while you get some retail therapy.

Gzira Play Area By the Marina

This time, as you come out of your apartment and turn right and walk along the promenade, you walk past the ferries and keep going until you see a petrol station. Pass the petrol station and then walk on the path through the garden there and that will lead you to another bright park for your kiddies. This is an enjoyable 30 mins walk. Whilst there you can relax at the snack cafe and enjoy looking at the yachts in the marina as well.

If you have a car there are many, many other fabulous parks all around the island for your children to enjoy. In fact you could make an entire holiday for your kids, keeping them busy at all the parks. A few of the other really good ones are:

Ta’ Qali, you may have to drive around a bit to find it as there are no sign posts, but it is really worth pursuing! An address nearby is Ta’ Qali National Park Attard, ATD 4000., then you will need to ask a local from there.

– A super large park by the Inspire Center, the address is Zinzell Street, Marsascala, 4070
MARSASCALA MSK 4070

Pembroke

This is on two levels with a really fabulous series of waterfalls in a garden. To find the park aim to get to the Radison Hotel in Pembroke. It is positioned at a dead end as you go down a road to reach the hotel. Their address is St. George’s Bay, St Julian’s, Malta STJ 3391. Now just before you go down the road leading to the Raddison you will see the park on your right hand side. That is the start of the park. You can park somewhere around there, or drive around to find the lower part of the park where you will see a very large car park.
There is a large, impressive, clean and colourful 12 slide park there and as you look around you will see some steps leading up to the next park with the wonderful series of waterfalls.

Your kiddies will have a lot of fun!
