Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday is the traditional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. This 2016, Pancake Day falls on Tuesday 9 February.
As well as eating pancakes, there’s more to just eating pancakes on Pancake Day. There’s a long tradition of pancake races in London. Participants have to toss pancakes in a frying pan while completing the course.
Whether it’s free pancakes, gourmet crepes or simply the spectacle of watching runners make an exhibition of themselves, you’re sure to find something of interest around the city.
Get your frying pans at the ready and be part of London’s Pancake Day!
