Silk on Glass and Papermaking

We will be using real Silk fibres to create a marbelled effect on glassware. This Workshop covers how to use silk to create works of art on Glassware and plastic. A method I have created myself many years’ ago which has featured in Craft Magazines. We will also be making Silk paper – Silk paper can be used to decorate cards, use it as a background for a Mixed Media picture, or you can paint onto it, draw on it, sew it, use it with felted pictures, decorate it in a wide variety of ways. You are only limited by your imagination. A fun Workshop with surprising results.

Bio:

An artist, crafter and tutor for many years – I’m currently trying to recycle and re-use as much as possible including incorporating re-cycling into all of my artwork.

Living by the sea has its advantages. On my various walks, I collect plastic items washed up by the sea – sea-glass, driftwood etc., and sanitize it all ready for use in my artwork.

My love of painting and craft work has allowed me to use my talents for work as well as a hobby.

I’m a Demonstrator for two of the major companies in the U.K. that supply Craft items for retailers. I have been on various “Design Teams” including Imagination Crafts and WOW Embossing Powders and have designed stamps and background papers which have been mainly for sale on the T.V. Craft channels.

I love all aspects of art and craft and am always trying something new. I’ve been holding Workshops for many years and like to make each Workshop fun and accessible to everyone both new to craft or experienced.

We are all creative in different ways and I hope to inspire people so that they even surprise themselves with what they can create and achieve.
